process to deposit a DLC 昀椀lm, which is extremely hard and has a very low coe昀케cient of friction. These properties help the tappet to maintain its durability in
extreme duty situations. Although KPMI® recommends never running a camshaft o昀昀 the edge of the tappet, this coating may help increase durability in these

and maximizes clamping force, look no further. KPMI® “rolls” the threads, heat treats and then centerless grinds the entire body of the stud. Rolling the threads
creates the toughest and strongest thread possible and centerless grinding removes notch sensitivity. The 昀椀nal process for all KPMI® Studs is to encase the

These nuts are manufactured from a high strength premium steel that promotes excellent surface 昀椀nish and tight tolerances, two critical factors for achieving
correct 昀椀t and torque. After machining, the nuts are heat treated to a speci昀椀c depth. This creates hard, wear resistant working surfaces, while retaining a ductile
core to prevent cracking under load. The premium black oxide treatment gives an excellent, corrosion resistant appearance.
